Instructor and Studio News

Green Shirt Studio just finished up three Free 1-Day Meisner Workshops in September on 9/21, 9/28 and 9/29. We met some incredible people and got to introduce the work to more members of the community, which gives us great pleasure.

Our next session of classes starts up this week, with our Level 1 classes beginning on Saturday, October 5th!

Green Shirt Studio is a proud supporter of The Agency Theater Collective’s Indiegogo campaign for their world premiere production of I Wish to Apologize to the People of Illinois, and as such is donating five year-long class packages to the campaign. For a limited time only, buy a whole year of classes for only $800 (almost $400 off the regular price). Check out the campaign here to get the deal and support a local theater in the process!

Andrew Gallant is co-writer and director of The Agency Theater Collective’s Fall 2013 production, I Wish to Apologize to the People of Illinois. The Agency has been getting some amazing press lately, including a spread on page 3 of The Chicago Tribune, as well as mentions on CBS local news and 3 radio stations. The production features the work of 7 Green Shirt alums, including Tim Touhy (co-writer/director), cast members Billy Baraw,  Patrick Burch, Iymen Chehade, James Munson, production designers Kate Jacobsen and Melanie Lewis. The show opens November 8th at Collaboraction Theatre’s Pentagon Space and runs through December 8th.

Andrew Gallant and Sommer Austin are co-writer/performers for another show of The Agency’s opening in November, a re-mounted version of their demented holiday rock musical, Out of Tune Confessional. The show has a limited 8-performance run after I Wish to Apologize… on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30pm, November 15th through December 7th. Featuring Green Shirt current student Jim Gallanis and alums Janet Magnuson and Molly O’Grady.
